Located in the Hooley-Bundschu Library and Learning Commons, the Martha Smith, CSJ, Ph.D. Archives & Research Center’s mission is to collect, preserve, and make accessible the permanent records of the University, as well as rare and unique collections that support the University’s administration, teaching, research, and service.

Digital resources
Martha Smith Archives & Research Center Catalog: The Archives Catalog contains descriptive records of all processed materials held by the Archives. These catalog records show the hierarchical structure of archival collections by linking series, box, and file or item records together. This catalog is NOT a full accounting of the Archives’ holdings, as it does not include unprocessed material.
University Archives Publications Collection: This is a digital archive collection, hosted by Internet Archive, containing collections such as Yearbooks, Alumni Magazines, Student Newspapers, and other University publications.
University Archives Photograph Collection: This digital archive collection, hosted on Flickr, contains a selection of Avila University photographs, arranged by department and/or subject.
U.S. Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph Digital Archive: This digital archive collection, hosted by Omeka.org, is the repository for digitized or born-digital organizational records of the U.S. Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph. These include photographs, meeting minutes, programs, and other materials. All archival materials relating to the Sisters of St. Joseph that were previously held by the Avila Archives are now housed and available at the CSJ Carondelet Consolidated Archives in St. Louis, Missouri.
