(August 4, 2016) KANSAS CITY, MO – The Hartsook Institute at Avila University will hold its third annual Inspired Fundraising Summit on August 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Goppert Theatre on the Avila University campus. The event is designed for fundraisers, CEOs, executive directors, philanthropists, board members and nonprofit professionals.

The Inspired Fundraising Summit will offer educational information designed for new participants to learn more about the fundraising industry, while giving already established fundraising professionals additional tools for excelling in the field. Those attending will discover how to balance daily activities to best stay energized, become more confident in creating fundraising trajectory, increase fundraising income by 10%, identify the best ways to communicate with donors, and tap into 25 years of research on bequest fundraising.

Three speakers and four foundation panelists will be presenting. The speakers include:

  • Jen Shang, Ph.D., philanthropic psychologist and director of research at the Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy at Plymouth Business School in the United Kingdom.
  • Adrian Sargeant, Ph.D., Hartsook visiting professor at Avila University and director of the Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy at Plymouth Business School in the United Kingdom.
  • Paul Clolery, editorial director for The Nonprofit Times. Mr. Clolery will conduct a unique one-on-one interview with Bob Hartsook, JD, Ed.D., and chairman of Hartsook.

Several foundation panelists will also be on hand to conduct a symposium moderated by Jeanne Hamilton Olofson, Avila Trustee, Heritage member and Father Medaille Society member.

Recent studies have shown that there will be a significant uptick in the growth of fundraising careers in the future. According to Salaries.com, the title wave of baby boomer retirements will help to stimulate growth. The Bureau of Labor Statistics report that the field is expecting to grow 9% before the end of the year 2024, and CareerProfiles.info listed fundraising in the “Top 40 Careers for the Year 2016.”

Hartsook Companies and Robert F. Hartsook partnered with Avila University to establish the Hartsook Institute in 2011. Through this partnership, Avila now offers a unique online fundraising-specific master’s degree program. Hartsook is the largest fundraising campaign consulting firm in the country.
