Santina Brown DNP, MSN, RN is an associate professor of nursing. Her nursing background includes three years as an adolescent and pediatric psychiatric nurse and two years as a pediatric home health nurse. She holds a master’s in science of nursing degree in family nurse practitioner, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice student (completed December 2024), and is working on a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate. Her passion is educating the future of health care and psychiatric nursing- providing care for adverse populations, especially adolescents. She has completed a quality care improvement project training staff at a rural hospital in verbal de-escalation and trauma informed care, is certified in de-escalation training, and has been a member of two chapters of Sigma Honors of Nursing Society, PSI and Delta.
