Nathaniel Bozarth began his career as a storyteller, producing a podcast (Wide Ruled) on justice in education and two documentary series about how various identities affect one’s access to “the American Dream” (Your Fellow Americans, Re:Dream). In 2018, Nathaniel co-created an app-based tour (Dividing Lines) of the history of residential segregation in KC. In 2021, the team created a new virtual version of the tour. This creative work around the history of residential segregation and the personal work of racial justice garnered for Nathaniel and team two Mid-America NATAS Emmys.
Prior work on the continuing effects of real estate policy on opportunity informs Nathaniel’s current interests in the way inequity becomes baked into ostensibly race-neutral models. In addition to teaching, Nathaniel works as a Data Analyst in the auto industry.
