(May 2, 2016) KANSAS CITY, MO – Avila University’s Online Nonprofit Master’s Degree in Fundraising has been ranked in the list of “Top 50 Online Nonprofit Management Master’s Degree Programs for 2016” by TopManagementDegrees.com.

The uniqueness of the Avila degree is that students earn a Master’s degree in Management with an applied emphasis on Fundraising. Thirty-seven hours of coursework include Fundraising Strategy, Direct Response, Major and Planned Giving, Institutional Fundraising and others, with a capstone that culminates with a project to drive change at a nonprofit organization. It is the only accredited online master’s and certificate program focused fully on fundraising.

Robin Rowland is a 2013 graduate of the MA Management Fundraising program. “The Hartsook Program is flexible, cutting-edge, and great for all types of nonprofit professionals,” Rowland said, “from the seasoned pro to those just getting started in their career. Students learn from the best in the field in every class, and bring back knowledge to use right away.”

The research-based classes were developed and are taught by Dr. Adrian Sargeant, Hartsook Visiting Professor for the Hartsook Institute at Avila University and Director of the Center for Sustainable Philanthropy at Plymouth University in the United Kingdom. Dr. Sargeant is widely renowned as being one of the world’s most respected voices and researchers in nonprofit marketing and fundraising.

The Top 50 list was ranked on the following criteria: estimated cost, flexibility, reputation and prestige, student satisfaction, and accreditation. Each criterion was given equal weight in order to gather a well respected and high quality program. Data was gathered from each program’s website, US News and World Report, the Princeton Review, and the National Center for Education Statistics.
