Undergraduate Research Opportunities
One of the strengths of Avila’s School of Natural & Applied Sciences is the opportunities our undergraduate students have for hands-on research. O’Rielly Hall is a state-of-the-art science and teaching complex with four biology laboratories, three research laboratories, a common core research facility, chemistry and physics facilities, and lecture rooms. Beyond the labs and lecture halls, we believe that all science students at Avila University must do some type of research. So we make undergraduate research a priority and include eligible students in Honors Research or work to give them an internship opportunity in their field of interest. The results of these research projects are presented in BI 499 Research Colloquium and Seminar, and during Avila’s Student Scholar Day – a campus-wide event.
