(June 29, 2016) KANSAS CITY, MO – C. Larry Garrison Sullivan, Ph.D., dean for the school of science and health at Avila University, has been awarded the first Carol Baffi-Dugan Award by the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions, Inc. The distinguished award was bestowed upon Dr. Sullivan at the National NAAHP meeting in Minneapolis, Minn. on June 15.
The Carol Baffi-Dugan Award for Service is a leadership award that will be presented at each NAAHP National Meeting. Dr. Sullivan was the first to receive the newly created award. The award’s namesake is a long-term NAAHP leader who, “through her selfless commitment to both her Regional Association and NAAHP, has set an example of dedicated service for all to follow.”
Dr. Sullivan was selected as the first recipient for his significant service to the Regional Association by demonstrating board service, committee work, liaison work and other substantial measures of time and commitment. “Being given the Carol Baffi-Dugan award is a tremendous honor, and I am proud to represent the NAAHP mission,” Sullivan said.
Dr. Sullivan is a past president of the NAAHP and chief pre-health advisor and professor at Avila University in Kansas City, Mo.
