Dual Credit Program

The primary objective of our dual enrollment program is to provide high school students with the opportunity to get a head start on their college education by earning college credits while still attending high school. This program offers students the advantage of completing college-level coursework at a significantly reduced tuition rate, allowing them to save both time and money. By participating in this initiative, students can lighten their future college course load and potentially graduate earlier, all while developing the skills necessary to succeed in higher education.

To participate in this program, students must first meet specific eligibility criteria established by their high school, which may include academic performance, grade level, and counselor approval. After confirming eligibility, students will be required to complete an application process through Avila University. This process involves submitting necessary academic documents, such as transcripts or grade reports, and providing a letter of recommendation from a school counselor or other designated authority. Once all required paperwork is submitted and reviewed for approval, eligible students can then select the college courses they wish to enroll in, giving them the freedom to explore various subjects that align with their interests or future career goals.

Currently, the program uses a general application that is applicable to all students. However, we continuously evaluate the process to ensure it meets the needs of our participants and maintains the highest level of efficiency. Should there be any changes to the requirements, or if a more specific or customized application becomes necessary, we will promptly update our procedures to reflect those changes. Students will be informed in a timely manner of any modifications to the application process, ensuring they have the most up-to-date information to successfully apply and participate in the program.

One of the most appealing aspects of this program is its affordability. The tuition rate for students participating in this dual enrollment program is set at just $95 per credit hour. This significantly reduced rate allows high school students to earn college credits at a fraction of the cost compared to standard college tuition fees. By taking advantage of this opportunity, students and their families can alleviate some of the financial burden typically associated with higher education, all while investing in the student’s academic future. This cost-effective solution encourages more students to take the leap into college-level coursework, making higher education more accessible.
