Twenty seniors from Avila’s School of Imaging Science recently attended the Missouri Society of Radiologic Technologists’ annual conference on April 6-8 in Columbia, Missouri. Attendees experienced lectures about advancements in the field and best practices for improving patient care and competed against students from other programs in Missouri in a fast-paced, competitive “Ray Bowl.”
“The conference was very informative and nice to see all these people in the same field. I very much enjoyed the experience and am happy we were able to attend,” said Avila student Josh Castaneda. “One takeaway for me is that this field is constantly growing, and there will always be a need, but most importantly, that Avila truly prepares its students so well. It truly is the best program in the state.”
“The conference really serves as a final hurrah for our senior class. They have bonded over the past two years in the program. It is fun to get together to celebrate how far they have come and what’s coming next for each of them,” said Program Director, Assistant Professor, and Chair of Imaging Sciences, Sarah Sanford.
