Avila School of Visual and Communication Arts Earn Five International MarCom Awards

(November 28, 2017) KANSAS CITY, MO – The MarCom Awards recently announced its 2017 winners, and Avila University’s School of Visual and Communication Arts received five awards – two gold, and three honorable mention.

Maci Hodges won a gold for her event and media kit, “Fight Cancer Fridays,” and Saud Alotaibi won two honorable mentions for “Make, Bake, Take,” Community Outreach – media kit, and swag bag. Both campaigns were created for the Kitty Store & More, a family owned business in Independence, Missouri.


Anna Saint won a gold for “Change the World with Scraps” Ad/Event Planning (Augmented Reality), and the Talon Advertising Group, Gracyn Reed and Brianna Peralta, won an honorable mention for “Are You Experienced?” a promotional poster for 2017 Hip- Hop Immersion. 

Assistant Professor Linda Strelluf, MA said, “This is not a student contest. It is a professional competition, and our students are being judged by, and competing with, the best of the best in the field of communication. Dr. Snorgrass and I are very proud of each of them.”

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) sponsors the MarCom Awards, which is an international competition that recognizes outstanding achievements by marketing and communication professionals. Since its inception in 2004, MarCom has evolved into one of the largest and most-respected creative competitions in the world.
