KANSAS CITY, MO – Reporting to Avila President Ron Slepitza and remaining on the university’s Executive Committee, Dr. Cathryn Pridal will now hold the title of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Pridal will oversee all of the academic components with a focus on moving the learning environment forward. Specifically, she will be supported in these efforts by the Deans and by the directors of our three centers (CSJ Center for Heritage, Spirituality and Service, Center for Global Studies and Social Justice, and the Center for Transformational Learning).
The realignment is a result of Avila University’s focus on the learning environment and with attention being given to data driven decision-making and effective best practices to reach the university’s strategic plan.
“The purpose of the Executive Committee realignment is to better respond to the challenges and changing conditions throughout higher education,” said Slepitza, “and to further focus on our commitment to improving student retention, completion through graduation and acquiring jobs beyond college.”
