KANSAS CITY, MO – Reporting to Avila University Provost Dr. Cathryn Pridal and remaining on the Executive Committee, Darby Gough will now hold the title of Assistant Vice President of Student Development and Success. Ms. Gough will continue to handle the responsibilities of her current role as Dean of Students, but will be adding additional responsibilities within the learning environment focusing on student success, retention and persistence to graduation.
The realignment is a result of Avila University’s focus on the learning environment and with attention being given to data driven decision-making and effective best practices to reach the university’s strategic plan.
“The purpose of the Executive Committee realignment is to better respond to the challenges and changing conditions throughout higher education,” said Avila’s President Ron Slepitza, “and to further focus on our commitment to improving student retention, completion through graduation and acquiring jobs beyond college.”
