Summary of Job Duties
• Teach theory in specialty nursing area including such activities as class preparation, student evaluation of assignments, test item writing, submission of grades. Motivate students to think, to question, and to critically analyze.

• Participate in faculty meetings, as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements (education, experience, special skills etc):
• Master’s prepared RN eligible for licensure in Missouri (must be approved by board).

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the Office Manager and Nursing faculty with all administrative and clerical duties. Major responsibilities include:
• Maintain nursing majors required documentation, process clinical contractual arrangements and requirements.
• Provide administrative support for School of Nursing. (e.g., schedule meetings, appointments, and events)
• Answer phones, greet visitors, produce standard letters, serve as resource person for copier, maintain and update department files, process incoming and outgoing mail, provide information to prospective students
• Prepare, distribute and tabulate semester course and clinical evaluations.
• Process RN licensure applications and distribute scholarship and employment opportunity information to nursing majors.

Qualifications

Education: Some college level coursework preferred but not required.
Experience: 3-5 years clerical and customer service experience required; experience in an academic or professional environment preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Requires above average proficiency with Microsoft Word, average proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and basic proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and photocopiers.
Other: Requires satisfactory criminal background check; requires a valid driver’s license.

The position directs marketing, recruiting and advising of adult students for the School of Professional Studies. The Director develops and implements student recruitment strategies and efforts to achieve the School’s enrollment goals and directs the staff in employing excellent customer services and practices in enrollment management.

EXPERIENCE: Significant progressively responsible experience managing and performing marketing, recruiting and advising adult students in an institution of higher education.

KNOWLEDGE:

Position Available Web Programmer/Analyst

Responsibilities

The Web Programmer/Analyst is responsible for developing innovative, reusable Web-based tools for progressive online activism and community building and to support University marketing and communication. This includes the current applications used on the Avila University web site as well as the development of new tools and processes as technology evolves. This position has responsibilities in the Office of Marketing and Communication and department of Information Technology, working in a team environment with both departments.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills Required:
• B.S. degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and three years experience in development, production and maintenance of a dynamic, complex, multi-user Web site, preferably as part of a development team in a higher education environment. Candidates will be considered if there is a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
• At least 2 years experience and demonstrated skill and expert programming knowledge using Web programming and tools (e.g. C#, ASP/ASP.NET, Java, Javascript, CSS, Perl, PHP, VBScript,)
• At least 1 year minimum experience and demonstrated skills working with relational database systems such as MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle and a good working knowledge of SQL Server 2008 (SQL Server 2005 at a minimum)
• At least 3 years minimum experience working with HTML/XHTML, DHTML, XML
• At least 2 years experience and demonstrated skill and knowledge using Web development/authoring software (e.g., Proficiency with Adobe products including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks). Experience covering MS products such as Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Office
• Demonstrated knowledge using recognized web development standards (e.g. W3C recommendations) and using basic network and network protocols.
