Visa Requirements
Once you have received your I-20 document from Avila, it is time to apply for your student visa. In order to receive a student visa, you will need:
1. Your I-20 document from Avila University
2. Your acceptance letter from Avila University
3. A bank statement showing you have sufficient financial funds to
study in the U.S. for one year
4. A receipt showing that you have paid your SEVIS I-901 fee.

Below you will find the questions most frequently asked by international students regarding their I-20s, student visas, and U.S. employment. Remember that the policies described below are requirements of U.S. immigration and not Avila University. We are here to help you with these policies. You really only need to remember a few simple rules:
1. If you study in the U.S. on a student visa, make sure you are a full-time student each semester.
2. Make sure that your I-20 is current each semester by checking with a DSO.
3. If you want to work off-campus, make sure you receive permission from Avila University and U.S. immigration.
