Graduate Initial Teacher Certification

»  A four-year degree with an overall GPA of at least 2.5
»  A completed application and transcripts of all previous work


You Can Become a Certified Teacher

kidsWith our innovative schedule, you can take all of the education classes you need for teacher certification. Avila offers many areas of certifications. You will conclude your certification with an 8-week student teaching experience, or if you are currently teaching in a school, you can continue in your existing position as an intern. Your student teaching will give you a chance to prove your skills and complete your portfolio.

Convenient Scheduling

Courses are structured in 5-week or 7-week sessions. Our program is not a lock-step or cohort program. Thus, you can schedule the classes you need to complete your program at the times that are most convenient for you without having to worry about keeping a pre-set pace. You can custom tailor the education program based on your lifestyle, taking classes when any session starts. See the listing of courses.
