Ken Parsons, Ph.D., gave a research talk entitled ‘Adorno on Violence’ at the 3rd annual Critical Theory conference in Rome, Italy on May 13-15, 2009.


MyersAs part of a Spring 2010 IS/PL course entitled ‘Violence’ and co-taught with Dr. Jeffrey Myers, Ken Parsons conducted a two-day, preliminary site visit to Berlin, Germany on May 19-21, 2009. Drs. Myers and Parsons will be taking 16 students to Berlin, Germany and Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland during Spring Break 2010 as part of this IS/PL course on mass violence, genocide, and war.

Religious Studies
Dr. Carol Coburn attended the premiere of the national traveling exhibit: Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in American. She has been an historical consultant for the project since 2005. This national exhibit will begin a three year tour that includes the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. in 2010–2011.
