Basketball Earns 2 All Conference Awards
Kansas City, MO – Avila
University has 2 Eagle basketball players named to the All Heart
of American Athletic Conference (HAAC) team.
Quinton Branch, junior
guard from Fort Worth, Texas, was named 3 rd team All HAAC, and
Adam Short, senior guard from Schererville, Indiana, was named Honorable
Mention All HAAC. Branch lead the Eagles in points (423),
points per game average (15.1), rebounds (69) and made the team's
second most 3 point baskets (49).
Adam Short lead the Eagles
with 3 point baskets made (53), second in points (403) and averaged
points per game (13.9); he also added 96 rebounds during the season.
Short ended his career at Avila, in dramatic fashion, by scoring
his 1000 th point late in his final game Saturday against Evangel
University.
The Eagles finished the
season with a 10-19 record and 3-17 in the HAAC.
Avila University is a
private, co-educational, values-based liberal arts institution founded
by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and is located at 119th
and Wornall Rd in southwest suburban Kansas City, MO.
