Olathe , KS- Avila took on MidAmerica Nazarene Tuesday in hopes of extending their conference win record to 4 games. The Eagles fought hard to keep themselves in the game. In the first half, MidAmerica scored on a corner kick deflected into the goal by an Avila defender. The Eagles went into halftime down by one goal, which they scored themselves.

The second half was the time to prove they could do it. They came out flat, however, and MidAmerica capitalized. MidAmerica scored their second goal in the 69 th minute and gained momentum. Avila could not manage to get even one past the keeper. In the last minute of the game, MidAmerica extended their lead to 3 goals and the Eagles walked off with a disappointing loss. MidAmerican outshot the Eagles 18 to 17.

Coach Clements was displeased with the performance of his team. He said, “The girls knew this game could have put them into the conference tournament. It was a lot of pressure for them to handle and they couldn't manage to meet the expectations. Next week we have two games, both of which could potentially get us into the conference tournament with a win. We will work hard this week and come out strong.”

The Eagles will face Benedictine at home on Saturday for their senior day. The game is set to start at 12pm.
