’98 Shane Sands will receive his masters degree in education with an emphasis in online teaching and learning in June 2008. Shane received his bachelor of arts in psychology from Avila.

’99 Fran (Betzen) Cook , LSCSW was honored as “social worker of the year” by Wichita State University at the Pride of Wichita Empowerment Rally. She is currently the staff supervisor at Catholic Charities Harbor House. Fran received her BSW from Avila.

’99 Amber (Painter) Keith has worked as an R.N. at North Kansas City Hospital for the last seven years. For the last two years, she's been doing inpatient wound care. She was named employee of the year for 2007. Amber received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila.

’95 Stacie (Estep) Hemmerling is the vice president and cash management officer at Hawthorn Bank. She is active with the Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce and is a coordinator for Leadership Lee's Summit . She received her bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in finance from Avila .

’95 Shirley (Yinn) Winn and her husband, Wilson James Winn, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on December 14, 2007. She works as Housing Administrator for the City Planning and Development Department in Kansas City , Mo. Shirley received her MBA from Avila .

’95 Derek Feagans On October 1, 2007 Derek was named General Counsel for Bernstein-Rein, a national advertising agency based in KC.  Prior to that, he was an associate at Bryan Cave LLP, an international law firm in KC.  In addition to his new job, Derek and his wife Heather also have a new baby girl.  Finley Grace Feagans was born September 5, 2007 and was 7lbs. 1oz. and 19in. long. Derek received his bachelor of arts in political science from Avila.

’98 Marie Hoolian Fanning has been working for a group of gastroenterologists for seven years and is a Certified Gastroenterology RN. Marie received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila.

’99 Julie Klutsarits Jasper and her husband Curtis Jasper '01 welcome new baby John Dale Jasper, born 8/20/07.  John joins siblings Joseph, 3, and Claire, 1.  Julie received her bachelor of arts in psychology and her masters of science in counseling psychology from Avila.
