by Graduation Year: Updated on May 6, 2008 ’72 Pat Logan received her master of arts in counseling and guidance from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She retired June 1, 2007 from the State of Missouri Department of Mental Health in Jefferson City. She enjoys visits with her grandchildren in Paola Ks. ’74 Patty (Priestly Laughlin) Leathers is “retired but still working.” She loves her two days a week as an R.N. in an ambulatory surgery center. She participates in the Scholarship Sponsors Committee at Avila. This September, her high school class ('58) from Loretto will celebrated their 50th class reunion. Patty received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila. ’76 Jeanne (Steffens) Lichty lives in Spring Texas. Her daughters Lindsey is a twenty-three year old graduate of the University of Texas , and is currently living and working in New York. Her daughter Ali is twenty-two and a graduate of the University of Texas. Ali will attend graduates school in 2009. Jeanne received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila.
’77 Patrice (Dean) McLaughlin is now retired and has been married for twenty-eight years. Her son, Anthony is twenty-six and is working on an English degree from the University of Arkansas , Fayetteville. Her son, Michael, is 21 and completed his first year of medical school at UAMS, Little Rock. Patrice loves to travel, especially on cruises. She is busy volunteering and spending time at the fitness center. Patrice received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila. ’77 Barbara B. (Borgstede) Mason , Ph.D. has retired. She has six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Barbara received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila. Updated on April 21, 2008 ’76 Cheryl (Asel) Thruston is the director of the Missouri AFL-CIO Dislocated Worker Program. She was appointed by Missouri Governor Matt Blunt to the Missouri Workforce Investment Board. Cheryl received her bachelor of arts in special education from Avila.
Updated on April 2, 2008 ’77 Barbara B. (Borgstede) Mason, Ph.D. has retired. She has six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Barbara received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila. Submitted on November 5, 2007 ’76 David Frantze was named to the top 100 Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers 2007. To be selected as "Super Lawyer" is a multiple step process that starts with nomination by one's peers. Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers. David works at Stinson Morrison Hecker in Kansas City. David recieved his bachelor of arts in history from Avila. Submitted on October 15, 2007 ’74 Deanne Bell (Bodenhausen) Bronaugh is now a Senior Client Benefit Consultant with Cerner Corporation. Deanne received her bachelor of science in nursing from Avila. ’76 Linda Peoples Hagerty moved to the San Diego area in the fall of 2006. She is working for the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education providing administrative support for special education programs in Del Mar Union School District. Linda received her bachelor of arts in special education from Avila. ’76 Jim Arthur has been employed at a beer distributor since 1993. He has been riding motorcycles for past three years and enjoys riding in the mountains. In July, he celebrated his twenty-seven year wedding anniversary to Carla (formerly Carla Welch of Northeast Kansas City). Jim received his bachelor of science in social work from Avila. ’76 Denise M. Caldarello and her husband Cole moved back to their hometown of Moberly in 1986 from Kansas City.She taught music for 18 years until retiring from the classroom in the spring of 2005. Now she is keeping her hand in teaching by instructing private guitar lessons. She also directs her church choir during Christmas and Easter. She has have two teenagers living at home in addition to one adult child living in St. Louis and one adult child in Kansas City. Her three grandchildren live in St. Louis. Denise received her bachelor of arts in Music from Avila. |
