Admission Requirements for
Transfer Students - Checklist
Transfer students who are degree seeking and have previously enrolled in an accredited, post-secondary degree program after graduating from secondary school must submit:
- Application for Admission
- Official Transcript(s) of all college-level work completed. Official transcripts must be obtained from each college attended, even if one transcript includes all previous college work. Transfer students who have completed less than twenty-four (24) college credit hours must also submit official high school transcripts.
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or greater in college work attempted
- The Office of Admission may also require recommendations from advisors and/or teachers and a student's self-statement, which reflects motivation and commitment.
January 1, 2010 – FAFSA Available Online
The 2010-2011 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available online beginning January 1, 2010 at
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Avila’s FAFSA code is 002449. This is the application used to determine eligibility for all need-based financial aid and all students are encouraged to file the application as soon after January 1 as possible. (If the family will file taxes any later than March 1, the 2007 tax returns should be used to file the FAFSA.)
April 1, 2010 – FAFSA Priority Deadline
Students should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by April 1, 2010 in order to receive a comprehensive financial aid package.
- Missouri residents must file the FAFSA by April 1 in order to qualify for Missouri grant assistance.
June 1, 2010 – Application/Scholarship/Housing Priority Date
Students who have submitted all application materials (see checklist) by June 1, 2010 will receive priority consideration for Avila University merit-based scholarships and on-campus housing. Students whose applications are not complete by the June 1 priority date will receive scholarship and housing consideration based on the availability of funds and space.
July 1, 2010 – Enrollment Deposit Date
Admitted students must submit their $200 enrollment deposit by July 1 to ensure their position in the entering 2010 transfer class. (The enrollment deposit is refundable before July 1, 2010.)
