Admission Requirements for High School Students
First-year applicants are encouraged to submit their application for admission soon after completing their junior year of high school. The following checklist of materials must be submitted to the Office of Admission before the student's application can be evaluated.

First-year applicants may apply after six full semesters of high school or secondary school work. Final transcripts indicating high school graduation need to be submitted to the Office of Admission before first-year classes start.

December 15, 2009 – Application/Scholarship Priority Date
Students who have submitted all application materials by December 15, 2009 will receive an admission decision before Christmas and full consideration for all Avila University merit-based scholarships. (See checklist for application materials)
Students whose applications are not complete by the December 15 priority date will receive scholarship consideration based on the availability of funds.
January 1, 2010 – FAFSA Available Online
The 2010-2011 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available online beginning January 1, 2010 at
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Avila’s FAFSA code is 002449. This is the application used to determine eligibility for all need-based financial aid and all students are encouraged to file the application as soon after January 1 as possible. Previous year’s tax returns should be used to file this application if the family will file taxes any later than March 1.
January 15, 2010 – Housing Priority Date
Students who have submitted their housing registration materials by January 15, 2010 will receive priority housing consideration.
March 1, 2010 – FAFSA Priority Deadline
Students should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1, 2010 in order to receive a comprehensive financial aid package prior to the National Reply Date of May 1, 2010.
- Missouri residents must file the FAFSA by April 1 in order to qualify for Missouri grant assistance.
May 1, 2010 – National Reply Date
Admitted students must submit their $200 enrollment deposit and housing contract to secure a position in the entering 2010 class and a room on campus (deposit is refundable until May 1, 2010).
