Choose Your Pathway
The School of Nursing provides two pathways to earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The B.S. in Nursing is your traditional nursing program for students who would like to get their nursing degree. The Accelerated B.S. in Nursing is for adult learners who have 60 or more college credits. Review to see which program is best for you!
Regardless of the program, Avila’s experienced faculty are here to help ensure students are equipped with the skills they need to start a fulfilling career as a nurse. Students will work in our simulation lab, receive personalized instruction, and take advantage of Avila’s top-ranking program.
Classes for this program are in-person on campus as a traditional Undergraduate program and students must be accepted in to the program as part of an application process.

- Simulated hospital environment where students learn to assist patients and provide basic to intensive nursing skills.

Welcome to Avila University’s newly constructed Nursing Simulation Lab – The Nursing Village! Completed in 2023, this cutting-edge facility spans 1500 square feet and stands as a testament to Avila’s commitment to advancing nursing education.
Designed to provide an immersive and realistic learning experience, The Nursing Village is equipped with a pre/debrief room to enhance reflective learning. The mock hospital space features five hospital bays, a fully-functional nurses’ station, an electronic medication dispenser, and a meticulously organized clean supply room. The facility’s layout mirrors a real healthcare environment, offering students an authentic setting to hone their skills and build confidence.
At The Nursing Village, we embrace the latest technologies to elevate the learning experience. High-fidelity simulations and virtual reality scenarios are conducted within this innovative space, allowing students to engage in a wide range of medical scenarios. Our simulations cover diverse areas such as medical-surgical, pediatrics, critical care, obstetrics, mental health, and community health.

Nursing students participate in a variety of simulations throughout the nursing program, including: virtual simulations, high-fidelity simulations, mass casualty simulations, and home healthcare simulations. Simulation and the strong debriefing process allow students to build teamwork, enhance clinical judgement and reflect on their own actions in a variety of clinical solutions.
