A résumé is a summary of your qualifications that are most pertinent to the position in which you are interested; a professional sketch highlighting your goals, skills, education, and experience.
How is it used?
* To respond to an advertised vacancy.
* To accompany a letter of inquiry concerning potential job opportunities.
* To present to an employer at a Job Fair or Teacher Placement Day.
* To reinforce a personal contact you have already established with an employer.
* To obtain an interview.
* To present to a prospective employer at the time of your interview.
** Note **
When sent to an employer, a résumé should always be accompanied by a letter.
Depending on the situation, it may be a cover letter or a letter of inquiry.
Remember... Plan ahead!

It takes time to create an effective résumé. Consider this time as an investment in your future. If you invest nothing, you should expect nothing in return.
