Resigns as Avila University Football Coach
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila
University's head football coach, Bruce Young, resigns after 6
years with the program and 5 as the head coach.
Prior to joining the Eagles
as a head coach, he was also an assistant coach at Avila for 1
year and 4 years at, conference foe, Baker University.
Coach Young, a member of
the Missouri High School Coaches Hall of Fame, compiled with an
impressive coaching record of 184-92-1 over 28 years in the high
school ranks, with only 5 losing seasons.
Young is a graduate of
Northwest Missouri State University (Maryville, MO). Bruce and
his wife of 38 years, Dwyla have three daughters Julie, Lindy,
and Kara. .
The search for Avila University's
next head football coach will begin immediately.

founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and is located
at 119th and Wornall Rd in southwest suburban Kansas City, MO.
