Bruce Young Resigns as Avila University Football Coach

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila University's head football coach, Bruce Young, resigns after 6 years with the program and 5 as the head coach.

Prior to joining the Eagles as a head coach, he was also an assistant coach at Avila for 1 year and 4 years at, conference foe, Baker University.

Coach Young, a member of the Missouri High School Coaches Hall of Fame, compiled with an impressive coaching record of 184-92-1 over 28 years in the high school ranks, with only 5 losing seasons.

Young is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University (Maryville, MO). Bruce and his wife of 38 years, Dwyla have three daughters Julie, Lindy, and Kara. .

The search for Avila University's next head football coach will begin immediately.
